Will Gilmore
Will Gilmore after winning the Big Blue Winter Blue shows his heart rate is "00" and living up to the moto "give it your all."
Name: Will Gilmore
Nickname: "Will"
Location: Northern California
Occupation: Investment Analyst
Age: 3*
Specialty: Navigation, strategy and motivating others in the early morning to keep pressing to the finish.
Hidden talent: Able to run away from rabid dogs, leap off 3 foot walls, and will eat anything to survive.
Weakness: Stopping at the end of the race :)
Favorite piece of gear: My National Geographics TOPO! map software for studying maps of upcoming races and my Axis Gear bike map holder.
Favorite training spot: The Sierra Nevada Range of Northern California
Favorite avocado dish: Green Eggs and Ham plus Avocados.
Worst AR Moment: Will's worst moment racing was in 2000 at the USARA National Championship Race south of Yosemite at above 8,000ft pushing a bike uphill in snow with multiple fractured ribs and "walking pnemonia." Everything after that seems easy to him!
Best AR Moment: Navigating our team through a boat portage from Prince Rupert to the Work Sound Inlet though a temperate rainforest in the Raid the North Extreme Race and hitting my intended target (off by 60 yards after 5 plus miles) all the while carrying a boat on my back through the forest and down ravines.
